How to CREATE a Monster

Take paper and crayons or coloured pencils and have fun creating monsters of all sorts. Here you have some clues (coge rotuladores y pinturas que vamos a crear monstruos divertidos de todas clases. Aquí te dejamos algunas claves de cómo hacerlo)

1.   Body Parts

Monsters can have the usual body parts that people have, like:

faces, feet, arms, ears, hands, and heads. They can also have animal body parts like antennae, fangs (colmillos), tails, wings, and fur. Don't forget the fun parts, like belly buttons and eyelashes.

2.   Talk about different colours. Body parts on fanciful monsters can come in all kinds of different colors.

3.   Discuss what monsters wear. Some monsters have terrible fashion sense

4.   Mix in some other adjectives. Monster parts could be scary or funny, sharp or round, curly or straight, big or small. Be creative, and think of a variety of different adjectives. Brainstorm adjectives together with the class.
5. Add prepositions. Does the monster have blue fur on its big belly? Does it have sharp teeth in its mouth? What does it have in its pockets or up its sleeve?
6. Have them label the defining features of their monsters.
7. Take turns to describe to the class

WHAT DOES THE MONSTER LOOK LIKE?

1. Remember a monster in English is dealt as “it” until it has a proper name!!


2. Remember a common mistake: don´t say How does the monster look like, this would not have any sense for English people. The correct form is WHAT DOES THE MONSTER LOOK LIKE.
